[ Jessica sighs quietly. She can sense he's being gentle with her. It's simultaneously comforting and frustrating. Someone treating her nicely is a welcome change, but she still can't stop seeing hidden evil in all of his words and actions, no matter how kind.
She shifts uncomfortably, fiddling with some toiletries to have an excuse not to look at him. ]
I'm okay enough. [ There's a silence, then: ] You really oughta worry about yourself more than me. I'm a big girl, Fitz.
[ Finally, she glances at him. She's searching for anything that'll prove he's going to do something to hurt her. The search proves fruitless. ]
I wonder sometimes.
[ She turns to face him, still guarded, but her stance and expression show a tad bit of willingness to be receptive. ]
Sorry. And thanks. But if you come 'round my room wavin' a gun again, I won't be so nice. Besides. [ She gives a small smile. ] My roomies are nice. And nearby. You don't have to come runnin' in on your white horse all the time.
